Advanced Leadership Program

The Advanced Leadership Program is spread across semesters. To succeed as a Leader and a Manager, it is necessary to conquer fear, shed inhibitions, develop a “never say die attitude” and be resilient.  These qualities are ingrained in students’ right at the start of the program during an outbound activity lasting two days.  These qualities are reinforced constantly during the all semesters in MATS. A follow on survival camp helps during the 3rd semester gives a finishing touch.   

Concept Review & Current Event Analysis:

The Current event analysis on a daily basis and the concept review that takes place once a week are activities that help the Matsonian linked with global events, corporate actions like mergers, acquisitions, share splits etc., political developments, consumer preferences, technological advances etc.  The sessions help connect concepts learnt in the class room to happenings in the real world. 

This year MATS is celebrating a Tenth anniversary of current event analysis and concepts review.  The 1600 alumni of MATS have reaped tremendous benefits from these activities. 

Research Projects, Seminars & Workshops:

A compulsory component of the program is a industry related research project spread over two months carried out under the guidance of both an industry mentor and an academic mentor. 

Students are also encouraged to publish research papers and present them at conferences in institute like IIT Kharagphur, University of Mysore etc.

Huge numbers of seminars and workshops are delivered by industry leaders and domain experts all through the year.  National level workshops are organised at MATS at least twice in a year.  These program ensure a high level of industry connect.  

Internship & Best Manager Contests:

An organisational study of about three weeks and Summer Internship of eight weeks complete the industry connects for students.  Each student are exposed to the variety of real world corporate experiences during his internships. 

MATS teams regularly win intercollege competitions during management fests held in b-schools in Bangalore and outside.  The tremendous trends the MATSONIS have in practical applications of knowledge is the secret of their constant success in competitions.

EXITO is the annual fest held in MATS every year.  Students demonstrate their ability to organise a national level fest and to constantly innovate events and formats.  The fest also brings to campus a large number of leaders and managers of industry.  Every Matsonians gets opportunities to interact with them.

Entrepreneurship
There is a very strong eco system at MATS that supports entrepreneurship development. Students transform during the program into first generation entrepreneurs or as change agents in their Family Managed Business Enterprises.
